You Got This: Face your Fear. Find your Confidence by Caroline Foran (2018)
I’m not usually a self-help book person, but Caroline Foran really has me thinking about how I can get into my own way sometimes (often? constantly?). I like this book because it’s not talking about all the things you’re doing wrong and what to do differently. It talks about how you see yourself, and how that can color how you view challenges and your success. Part of the title of the book is “Face your Fear,” and Foran explains how to face your fear in well-researched and personal accounts. A lot of what she writes is reminiscent of sessions with my therapist when she talks about phenomena like perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and other confidence-killers. You’ll need a pen and paper if you read this, because Foran puts you to work to determine what you value, your goals, and what holds you back. Read this book to find your confidence and understand that you do have what it takes to succeed.
